Job Title: Construction Executive

Job Summary:
Construction Executives are senior level professionals responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and success of a construction company or its major projects. They manage business development efforts, oversee financial performance, and ensure that projects meet both client expectations and industry standards. Construction Executives also play a crucial role in long term planning, risk management, and maintaining a company’s reputation in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Oversee and lead construction projects, ensuring the successful execution of all phases from planning to completion.
  • Develop and implement long term business strategies and objectives for the company or division.
  • Drive business growth through client development, market expansion, and project acquisition.
  • Set high level operational goals and ensure alignment with the company’s vision and values.

Operations & Project Management:

  • Provide direction to project managers and construction teams, ensuring they adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Review and approve project bids, contracts, and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies
    and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and provide guidance as needed.

Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for multiple projects or the overall business.
  • Analyze project profitability and company financial performance to make informed decisions.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation to maximize profitability.

Client & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Act as the face of the company in high level meetings with stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts and resolve disputes or challenges with project partners.

Risk Management:

  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure proper insurance coverage and legal compliance across all projects.
  • Manage crisis situations, from project delays to unforeseen construction issues.

Key Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in construction leadership, including managing large scale projects or operations.
  • A track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide large, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Advanced understanding of project management principles and software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
  • Financial acumen, including experience with project budgets, profit and loss statements, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Familiarity with current trends in sustainable building practices and technology integration in construction.

Certifications (Optional but Preferred):

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
  • LEED accreditation or knowledge of green building standards.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or General Contractor license.
